How Much Does Invisalign Cost? Pricing at Bold Bite

Not every case requires the full treatment path. Bold Bite publishes a starting price for each Invisalign track and reviews every new 3D scan before confirming the exact fee in writing at the free consultation. Every price below is all-inclusive, the digital scan, all required refinements, and the first set of retainers are included.

Treatment complexity and duration determine the fee. The ranges below reflect typical Bold Bite cases.

About Angel Aligners™: Angel Aligners are marketed primarily to orthodontists and carry lower lab fees than Invisalign. They are a comparable clinical alternative at a lower price point. Both brands are prescribed and monitored by Dr. Greenberg and Dr. Cao using the same CBCT-integrated planning protocol. Compare clear aligners →

How Your Price Is Determined

Bold Bite writes three complexity tiers for aligner cases. Tier 1 (Invisalign $5,500 / Angel $4,500) covers simple cases — minor crowding, short aligner runs, or Phase 2 finishing after a Phase 1 round. Tier 2 (Invisalign $6,500 / Angel $5,500) covers the standard adult or teen comprehensive case, typically 12 to 18 months. Tier 3 (Invisalign $7,500 / Angel $6,500) covers complex cases — extraction-driven alignment, severe bite correction, or multi-specialty cases coordinated with an oral surgeon, periodontist, or ENT. Dr. Greenberg and Dr. Cao review every new 3D scan together before confirming the tier at the free consultation. The tier is written into the financial agreement before treatment starts — Bold Bite does not raise the price mid-treatment if the case turns out more complex than expected.

Use the cost calculator below → for a tier-adjusted estimate based on treatment type and expected duration.

Invisalign vs Braces Cost: At Bold Bite, Invisalign starts from $5500, metal braces from $4500, and clear ceramic braces from $4700. Angel Aligners match entry-tier braces at $4500. The choice should be clinical, not financial. See braces pricing → · National Invisalign cost guide →

How Bold Bite Prices Aligner Treatment

Bold Bite's pricing reflects specialist-level diagnosis by two board-credentialed orthodontists, a CBCT scan included in every comprehensive exam, personalized treatment planning reviewed by both doctors, advanced technology (CBCT, iTero, wireless scanning, in-house 3D printing), unhurried appointments, and a high standard of finishing — not a volume-based corporate model. For families where price is the primary factor, the practice openly refers to the Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics resident program, which offers lower-cost resident-supervised treatment under faculty orthodontists. Bold Bite would rather a family get the right care somewhere than skip treatment entirely.

Which Clear Aligner Brand Bold Bite Prefers, and Why

Bold Bite Orthodontics opened with Invisalign and then switched to Angel Aligners as the primary clear aligner platform after running a head-to-head comparison: the same records for 20 patients were run through both ClinCheck (Invisalign) and iOrtho (Angel), and the Angel setups were superior every time — more efficient tooth movements, fewer aligner stages per case, and treatment finishing in one-half to one-third the time of the Invisalign plan. Dr. Greenberg and Dr. Cao still prescribe Invisalign when it is the right fit for a specific case, but Angel Aligners is the default recommendation at Bold Bite because it produces the same or better clinical result at a lower fee and on a shorter timeline.

All-Inclusive Aligner Treatment, No Hidden Fees

Every price above includes everything the patient needs from day one through the end of active treatment. The fee on the contract is the fee the family pays.

Refinements included, no extra charge for mid-course adjustments

*Initial set of retainers included. Replacement retainers (lost, cracked, or worn out) are priced separately and disclosed in the financial agreement before treatment begins.

Refinements, Retainers, and Switching Treatments

Refinements are included at Bold Bite. Angel Aligners includes five years of unlimited refinements in the treatment fee, and Invisalign refinements are included for the duration of active treatment at the original case complexity. Most Bold Bite aligner patients complete two or three refinement rounds before debond. Dr. Greenberg and Dr. Cao use a unique attachment-free finishing protocol on Angel cases — attachments come off for the final refinement, and detail movements are finished using Angel's full high trimline, which provides enough tooth-surface coverage for predictable control without the aesthetic compromise of visible attachments.

Switching tracks mid-treatment. Most aligner cases at Bold Bite finish in aligners, but a patient who starts in Invisalign or Angel Aligners and later prefers braces can switch for a $400 fee — significantly less than the cost of restarting treatment at a competing office. A hybrid path (start in braces for initial alignment, finish in aligners for detailing) is common and is quoted at the original comprehensive tier without an extra switch fee. Some deep bites, difficult extraction cases, and surgical cases still require braces start-to-finish; Dr. Greenberg and Dr. Cao flag those at the consultation before the financial agreement is signed.

Retainers and Retainer Club. Every comprehensive aligner fee at Bold Bite includes the first full set of Essix retainers at debond (upper + lower). The practice also includes a backup set on most cases — a value-add most Jacksonville offices do not offer. Replacement retainers are priced separately: $150 per arch when the patient brings the original 3D-printed model back, $250 per arch when a new intraoral scan is needed, and $300 for a stamped Angel retainer or $350 for a Vivera premium retainer. Every Bold Bite patient is enrolled in the Retainer Club, which provides online reordering of replacement retainers with no monthly membership fee — the practice charges only for the retainer itself.

Out-of-Contract Costs - Priced Separately, Disclosed in Writing

Two categories of cost are not covered by the all-inclusive aligner fee: comfort and emergency visits for non-contracted patients, and transfer cases starting mid-treatment from another practice. Both are priced in writing at consultation so there are no surprises.

Comfort & Emergency Visits

Contracted patients during patient care hours: no cost. Lost or damaged trays, attachment issues, and similar in-treatment comfort visits are seen at no charge. All other patients pay $By arrangement with existing treating orthodontist only during patient care hours and $By arrangement with existing treating orthodontist only in other hours, subject to doctor availability. See the full emergency policy for the contracted-patient off-hours rate and other details.

Transfer Cases

Patients transferring mid-treatment from another practice pay a $100 consultation fee, deductible from the treatment fee at case start. The treatment fee is calculated based on remaining treatment time. Use the cost calculator for an estimate.

Insurance Covers Invisalign, Same as Braces

Most PPO dental plans cover Invisalign at the same rate as braces, typically $1,500 in lifetime orthodontic benefit per patient. Bold Bite Orthodontics accepts all PPO orthodontic insurance plans. The practice files the insurance claim directly with each insurer as a courtesy, so patients only pay their estimated out-of-pocket portion at each visit. The front-desk team verifies each plan in writing at the free consultation before the financial agreement is signed. Full insurance details →

Why Choose Bold Bite Over a Cheaper Office?

A lower-priced alternative usually means fewer specialists, less technology, or hidden add-on fees that surface later. At Bold Bite, two residency-trained orthodontists personally plan and manage every case, not a general dentist who completed a weekend certification course or a remote service with no in-person exam. Every patient receives CBCT 3D imaging with airway screening, in-house 3D-printed appliances, and remote monitoring, all included in one transparent fee. The practice's position is that paying a fair price once and finishing well is a better outcome than saving up front and needing treatment redone.

Bold Bite Clinical Standard

Why Mail-Order Aligners Are Not Worth the Savings

Mail-order aligner kits may look convenient, but orthodontic treatment is more than straightening the front teeth from a home impression. Teeth move through bone, bites can be deepened or opened in ways a remote algorithm cannot see, gum tissue can be stressed, and airway, TMJ, or occlusal findings are routinely missed when no orthodontist is in the room. Every aligner case at Bold Bite is planned on CBCT and intraoral-scan data, supervised in person, and monitored between visits through the Grin Scope app. Bold Bite considers the cost difference between mail-order and in-office treatment not worth the clinical risk.

Is mail-order Invisalign a cheaper alternative?
Mail-order aligner companies skip in-person diagnosis and physical examination.
