Community & Group Discounts
Every discount below applies to the total fee for comprehensive orthodontic treatment — metal braces, clear ceramic braces, Invisalign, or Angel Aligners. The discount is applied at the start of treatment and is reflected in both the contract total and every monthly payment. Bring valid ID or proof of service/employment to the first visit; the practice verifies on the spot.

One community discount per patient — the highest single amount applies. Bold Bite does not stack community-group discounts on each other. A patient who is both a teacher and a first responder receives one $300 discount, not $600. A military spouse who also works in healthcare receives the $300 military discount, not $600.
Insurance is separate. The community discount reduces the quoted treatment fee. Insurance benefits then reimburse against the discounted fee according to the patient’s plan. A military patient with PPO coverage receives both the $300 discount and the full insurance benefit — those two levers do not compete.
Pay-in-full discount stacks. The 5% pay-in-full discount is applied after the community discount when the treatment fee is paid in full at the start. So a teacher who pays in full receives both the $300 teacher discount and an additional 5% off the remaining balance.
Comprehensive treatment only. Community discounts apply to full courses of braces, Invisalign, and Angel Aligners started at Bold Bite. They do not apply to retainer replacement (Retainer Club has its own flat pricing), scheduled braces-removal-only appointments, emergency-only visits, or appliances purchased separately.
No cash referral payments — ever. Florida’s Patient Brokering Act (FS 817.505) and anti-kickback statute (FS 456.054) make per-patient cash rewards a felony for healthcare providers. Bold Bite’s referral program is non-monetary by design — hand-written thank-you notes plus a charitable donation in the referrer’s name. Community discounts are not referral incentives.
Valid proof at the first visit. Military ID, DD-214, school badge, hospital ID, department badge, full-time college enrollment, or family enrollment confirmation. The treatment-coordinator team verifies eligibility before the contract is signed; nothing is collected, copied, or stored beyond the verification check itself.
How to Apply Your Discount
Every patient who books a free new-patient consultation gets the same starting kit — a 3D CBCT scan, a digital intraoral scan, a full clinical exam, a doctor-led treatment-plan review, and a written pricing estimate. Patients who qualify for a community discount simply mention it when booking, bring proof to the first visit, and the discount is reflected in the written estimate before any decision is made.
Pay-in-Full Discount Explained
Patients who pay the full treatment fee at the start of treatment receive an additional 5% pay-in-full discount. This stacks on top of the community discount. For a Jacksonville teacher whose comprehensive Invisalign quote is $5,500, the math runs:
For families who prefer monthly payments, Bold Bite offers in-house 0% APR financing with no credit check and no third-party processor. Monthly payments are spread across the active treatment timeline (typically 18–24 months) and are calculated on the post-discount fee. The community discount does not change with the payment path — only the 5% pay-in-full bonus is contingent on full payment up front.
For larger fees or longer payment plans that exceed the in-house program, Bold Bite also accepts third-party medical financing through Cherry (soft credit check, no hard inquiry, flexible terms). Cherry plans are calculated on the post-community-discount fee, the same as in-house financing. Visit the financial page for the full breakdown.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I combine two community discounts?
No. Bold Bite applies one community-group discount per patient — the highest single amount wins. A patient who is both a teacher and a military spouse receives the $300 military discount, not $600. The reason is straightforward: these are not promotional coupons, they are eligibility-based recognition of service. A patient who qualifies under more than one category gets the full benefit of the highest single category, not a multiplier.
Insurance, pay-in-full, and the community discount are three separate levers and DO all apply at once. So a teacher with PPO coverage who pays in full gets the $300 community discount, the full PPO benefit, and an additional 5% off the post-discount fee.
What proof do I need to bring to the first visit?
One document is enough for each category. Military: active-duty ID, DD-214, VA health card, or current military spouse ID. Teacher: school badge, district ID, or recent pay stub from a Florida public, charter, or private K-12 school. First responder: department badge, certification card, or employer ID for police, fire, EMS, paramedic, or 911 dispatch. Healthcare worker: hospital or clinic badge, professional license, or recent pay stub from any healthcare facility (Mayo, Baptist, UF Health, Brooks, and the surgery centers all qualify). Student: current full-time college or university enrollment verification or student ID with a current sticker. Family: no extra proof; the practice verifies the household from existing patient records.
When is the discount applied to my account?
At the start of treatment, before the contract is signed and before the financing plan is calculated. The written estimate produced at the consultation visit already reflects the discount on the line above the total. The contract reflects the same number, and every monthly payment (or the pay-in-full total) is calculated against the post-discount fee. There is no rebate-style refund applied later — the discount is built into the contract from day one.
Does insurance still apply if I am using a discount?
Yes. Insurance and the community discount are independent. Bold Bite accepts all PPO orthodontic plans and files every claim on the patient’s behalf. The discount reduces the quoted fee; insurance then reimburses against the discounted fee. The patient sees the smaller out-of-pocket number on the contract.
Does the discount work with the pay-in-full and financing options?
Yes. The community discount is applied first, the in-house 0% APR financing or Cherry third-party financing is calculated on the post-discount fee, and patients who pay the full balance up front receive an additional 5% pay-in-full discount on top of the community amount. So a Jacksonville first responder paying in full receives the $300 community discount AND 5% off the remaining balance.
Do retired military, retired teachers, or retired first responders qualify?
Yes. Bold Bite honors military service regardless of current employment status. Veterans qualify with a DD-214 or VA card. Retired teachers qualify with a retired-teacher ID or proof of prior school employment. Retired police, fire, EMS, and 911 dispatch qualify with retirement credentials or a department-verified retiree ID. The discount honors the years of service, not the current pay stub.
What treatments qualify for the discount?
All comprehensive orthodontic treatment for children, teens, and adults: metal braces, clear ceramic braces, self-ligating braces, Invisalign, and Angel Aligners. Phase-1 interceptive treatment for children also qualifies, and the same eligibility carries forward to the phase-2 comprehensive course at the same discount level. Discounts do not apply to retainer-only cases (the Retainer Club has its own flat pricing), scheduled braces-removal-only appointments, emergency-only visits, or single appliances purchased separately.
Are these discounts a referral or kickback program?
No. Florida law (Patient Brokering Act FS 817.505 and anti-kickback FS 456.054) makes per-patient cash referral payments a felony for healthcare providers. Bold Bite’s community discounts are eligibility-based recognition of service, not referral incentives — the patient qualifies because of who they are or what they do, not because they brought another patient through the door. Bold Bite’s separate refer-a-friend program is non-monetary: hand-written thank-you notes and a charitable donation in the referring family’s name. See the refer-a-friend page for the full referral structure.
Is the consultation still free if I use a discount?
Yes — the new-patient consultation is always free. It includes a low-dose 3D CBCT scan, a digital intraoral scan, a full clinical exam by Dr. Greenberg or Dr. Cao, a doctor-led treatment-plan review, and a written pricing estimate with the community discount already applied. No deposit, no obligation. Vietnamese-language consultations are available with Dr. Cao on request.
Why Bold Bite Honors These Discounts
Bold Bite is locally owned and doctor-operated — not a corporate-managed group with a regional pricing committee. Dr. Martin Greenberg (DMD Cum Laude, Boston University; MS Orthodontics, Jacksonville University; ABO Board Eligible, clinical exam Fall 2026) and Dr. Trang Cao (DMD Summa Cum Laude, Boston University; CAGS Orthodontics, Jacksonville University; Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics) live in the Jacksonville Beach area, raise their kids here, and built the practice around the families their kids go to school with.
The community discounts on this page exist because the people who teach at Mayport Elementary, who run into burning houses on Atlantic Boulevard, who deploy from NAS Jax, and who staff Mayo Clinic, Baptist, and UF Health are the same families that walk through the door at 14035 Beach Boulevard. Treating them at a fair fee is not a marketing tactic — it is what a locally owned specialist practice in this neighborhood does.
Discounts are honored regardless of insurance status, regardless of which treatment is chosen (metal, clear ceramic, Invisalign, or Angel Aligners), and regardless of whether the patient is a child, teen, or adult. The free consultation is free for everyone, with or without a discount. Eligibility is verified once at the first visit and the discount is locked in for the full duration of treatment, including any phase-2 follow-up after a phase-1 interceptive course.
