The Bold Bite Referral Network
Referrals run in both directions. General and pediatric dentists send patients to Bold Bite Orthodontics for orthodontic evaluation, and Bold Bite returns each patient to their dental home for cleanings, fillings, and restorative work throughout treatment. When a case needs surgical, periodontal, ENT, or myofunctional support, Dr. Trang Cao and Dr. Martin Greenberg coordinate directly with the specialist, share imaging and treatment plans, and sequence the work so nothing falls between offices. The network below reflects the Jacksonville Beach and greater Jacksonville providers Bold Bite routinely partners with.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery partner. Backup surgical exposure provider for facially impacted canines and complex extraction cases sequenced to the Bold Bite orthodontic plan.
Periodontics & Implants
For surgical exposure of impacted canines, crown lengthening, and implant placement coordinated with orthodontic tooth positioning. Dr. Cao and Dr. Greenberg sequence orthodontic traction directly to the periodontist's exposure protocol.
Dr. Doug Stortch
Primary surgical-exposure partner. Handles impacted canine exposure (open exposure for palatal impactions, closed exposure with gold chain or IsoGlide for facial impactions), crown lengthening, and implant placement coordinated with the Bold Bite orthodontic timeline. Surgical-exposure cases typically add 6–8 months to comprehensive treatment.
Pediatric ENT & Airway
For adenoid and tonsil evaluation, septum and turbinate assessment, and pediatric airway workup. Bold Bite screens every patient for airway issues at consult; ENT partners receive Vatech Green CT imaging and AI-assisted airway analysis with each referral. Airway orthodontics details →

Sleep physicians interested in coordinating with an airway-focused orthodontic practice are invited to contact Bold Bite.
Myofunctional Therapy
For tongue-posture retraining, swallowing-pattern correction, and orofacial muscle coordination. Bold Bite uses myofunctional therapy alongside expanders, tongue cribs, and habit appliances when tongue thrust or low tongue rest position is driving the malocclusion. Functional appliance details →
Southern Speech and Myo
Primary myofunctional therapy referral partner. Works with Bold Bite patients on tongue-posture retraining, swallow-pattern correction, and lip-seal training — frequently sequenced alongside the Leaf expander, Angel Aligner tongue crib, or lab-fabricated fixed habit appliance.
Prosthodontics & Restorative
For adult patients needing implant placement, crown work, veneers, or full-mouth reconstruction sequenced with orthodontic tooth positioning. Bold Bite coordinates pre-restorative tooth movement so the prosthodontist receives the arch in the planned final position.
Prosthodontist Partner
TBD — pending practice owner confirmation. Complex adult restorative cases sometimes require orthodontics before or after implant placement, and Bold Bite routinely coordinates tooth positioning with the restorative plan. Prosthodontists in the Jacksonville Beach area interested in establishing a coordinated-care relationship are invited to contact Bold Bite.
How Bold Bite Coordinates Care
Dr. Cao and Dr. Greenberg personally write every referral letter and review every specialist report before it becomes part of the patient's treatment plan. Timing matters — palatal expansion happens before adenoid surgery in some cases and after in others, surgical exposure of an impacted canine is sequenced to the orthodontic traction plan, and pre-surgical alignment is paced to the oral surgeon's operative window. Bold Bite owns that sequencing rather than handing it off. Referring dentists receive a written summary at every major milestone, and the patient continues routine cleanings and restorative care at the referring practice throughout active orthodontic treatment.
For Referring Doctors
Referring a patient takes under two minutes. The patient is sent. Bold Bite Orthodontics handles the rest, consultation, imaging, treatment plan, and progress reports back to the referring office.
Refer
Call (904) 595-6869, email appointments@myboldbite.com, or have the patient book online. Mention the referring practice so Bold Bite can coordinate. A formal referral form is not required — a brief note, a prescription pad, or a secure-message handoff with the reason for referral is enough.
Evaluate
Free consultation with a Vatech Green CT scan, iTero digital impressions, AI-assisted airway analysis, and a written treatment plan. No charge to the patient or referring practice for the consult. Same-week availability for most referrals; priority slots held each week for urgent cases (impacted canines, pediatric airway concerns, crossbite correction, pre-surgical evaluations).
Report
The referring office receives a consult summary within 5 business days — diagnostic findings, proposed treatment plan, estimated timeline, and CBCT key images. Progress letters follow at major milestones (appliance delivery, Phase-I completion, debonding, retainer placement). The patient continues routine cleanings and restorative work at the referring practice throughout treatment.
